This is a peyote stitch bracelet that I made for the lovely lady that styles my hair. She saw a peyote stitch bracelet that I was wearing and said she would like a similar one. I created this peyote stitch bracelet using size 8 triangle beads with a silver core. The closure is a Czech fire polished glass button. I hope she likes it.
It has been a while since I posted anything. It has been a busy summer. Between vacation and getting kids off to school and college I haven’t had much time to bead or to blog. I have missed it. Both the beading and the blogging. I have lots of ideas for new jewelry. I need to capture them all on paper before they disappear. These days my age is starting to show – ideas seem to flit out of my head. Oh well, fortunately new ideas always seem to follow.
Have you been watching the Battle of the BeadSmith on Facebook? What a talented group of bead weavers. There are some amazing jewelry designs. I am very impressed. It is also very inspirational. I particularly love the amazing Baroque necklace by Alla Maslennikova What workmanship and what a fabulous design.
And what about ‘Into the Wilderness’ by Sue Horine? Isn’t her work absolutely stunning?
All this beautiful work has inspired me to start selling my work if only to subsidize my hobby. I have almost a store full of beads already in my stash. It’s somewhat crazy. But if I can make this into a business then I will feel more justified in continuing my bead-buying habit. Oh the things we do to continue to hoard these shiny little beady beauties.
I will also be creating some tutorials. I’ll start with some free ones and work my way up to selling them. Let me know if there are particular stitches you would like to see in a tutorial or particular jewelry designs. I was thinking of creating a tutorial maybe for a peyote stitch bracelet like this one or maybe a herringbone bracelet? Earrings? Please leave a comment with your preferences.
